According to a new survey by BIGinsight, it is projected that the average person will spend $130.97 on candy, cards, gifts, and more, this Valentine's Day - up from $126.03 last year - with total spending expected to reach $18.6 billion. Americans haven't forgotten about their pets; they will get some love too. Two in five Americans plan to buy gifts for their pets this year with total spending expected to reach more than $815 million according to the National Retail Federation. So what is it that people are buying? According to a Pets Adviser survey:

  • Toys are the most popular gift for pets this year
  • Treats are a close second
  • Bones ranked high on the survey
  • Beds are on the list too
