This Friday, June 26th is Pet Sitters International's 2015 Take Your Dog To Work Day®. It is celebrated each year on the Friday following Father's Day.

On this day, Pet Sitters International or PSI encourages employers to experience the joys of pets in the workplace for one day to support their local pet community.

This event, which was first celebrated in 1999, hopes to bring awareness to non-pet owners of the positive experiences pets bring to their human's lives. It's also a perfect opportunity to show off your furry family member.

During this event, non-pet owners have the ability to witness the special bond their coworkers have with their pets firsthand and be encouraged to adopt a new best friend of their own. Man's best friend can also be a great sense of stress relief in your office. Although not all work places accommodate dogs, more and more businesses are finding that dogs in the workplace make for a friendlier, lower stress environment. Recently, dogs have been seen in court rooms, parole offices, and schools because of their calming effect.

Braxton's Animal Works, a supporter of local rescues and shelters, encourages its loyal customers to participate in this special day. For a list of activities, click here.
