"I stay here," says Wes Graham, long time employee at Braxton's Animal Works, "because the Braxton's are standup people."
Wes, warehouse manager at Braxton's, fell into this job to a degree. After leaving a position in gardening, he thought that he would inquire about work at our neighbors, The Garden Shoppe. Stumbling into the wrong (or right) door has led to a 14 year relationship with Braxton's Animal Works.
Behind the scenes most days, Wes is responsible for "keeping things in order" and "finding better ways to make things work." He contributes to the team effort by maintaining receiving and warehouse operations. "An organized warehouse makes life easier for everyone," says Graham. John Braxton says of Wes, "He is conscientious and always willing to help out."
Wes is a quick study. Working under Chad Barone for several years, Wes soaked up information about pet's, nutrition, health, and products. "I like helping people and helping their pets," says Wes. As a child, Wes' family owned dogs; but as an adult, he is the proud owner of a cat named "Boots."
Aside from working at Braxton's, Wes enjoys drawing. He attended art school and dreams of publishing a graphic novel. Some may even remember his work in the paper version of our Pet Gazette; Wes was responsible for the cartoon strip, Off Lead. Here are a few samples.
Wes says that although many businesses talk about customer service, Braxton's takes it up a notch - "they're sincere." At Braxton's, customer service is not only reserved for the sales floor, but also extends to the management and owners. Braxton's goes above and beyond to satisfy each customer.
Wes believes that this is a very special, unique place to work. He enjoys the people and the atmosphere. Next time you are in the store, say hello to Wes.
