Main Line Dog Training, a private, in home dog training service is owned by Pam Coath, a CPDT-KA (Certified Professional Dog Trainer, knowledge Assessed) with the APDTP. Pam lives in Wayne with Darby, the Doberman, and Ricky, the dancing Toy Poodle!
Pam began her training career over 20 years ago, competing successfully in the AKC Obedience and Conformation rings, with a Sheltie named Jackson, and a Doberman named Luke.
The techniques for training dogs have changed profoundly over the years, from the use of choke chains and force, to positive, rewards based methods. Pam spent several years working with trainers skilled in positive motivation based training, and has led puppy classes, manners type classes, and CGC (AKC Canine Good Citizen) classes as well. She attends many seminars dealing with all areas of behavior and training of dogs.
Today she focuses primarily on private, in home training, helping with the arrival of new puppies, socialization, housebreaking, behavior problem prevention and solutions. She loves dogs, and loves helping families establish great relationships with their new puppies.
