This week, August 10-16, 2020 marks the 11th Annual Nationwide Give a Dog a Bone Week. This annual event is a national effort to raise awareness and to help local communities across the U.S raise donations of pet food and supplies for pets of the homeless population.
With the pandemic and people losing their jobs there is more of a need than ever before. The need for pet food and supplies will increase as more people become homeless. Give a Dog a Bone Week brings together over 200 pet food donation sites across America.
There are several ways to participate:
Donate: Donate pet food and supplies directly to a drop site near you. To locate a drop site near you, click here.
Make a Donation: Donations allow organizations to help provide emergency veterinary care, as well as provide crates to shelters to keep pets and humans together, and other services. Donate today!
Purchase a T-Shirt: A special t-shirt commemorating Give a Dog a Bone Week has been created and proceeds from your order go directly to Feeding Pets of the Homeless. Purchase your shirt today!
So if you are looking for a way to help pets of the homeless, check out their website, and consider donating.
